  1. On Saturday, Anjani Kumar, who previously held the position of Director General, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), began serving as Telangana’s new Director General of Police (DGP).

2-Anjani Kumar, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1990 batch, succeeded M. Mahendar Reddy as the state police chief after he resigned due to retirement.

3-M. Mahendar Reddy oversaw the Telangana state police for five years before resigning from his position due to retirement.

4-Anjani Kumar, a Bihari native, started working as a police officer in the Warangal district of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1992 as Asst. He held a variety of police roles in Andhra Pradesh before moving on to Telangana.

5-Before being named Director General of ACB, Anjani Kumar served as the police commissioner of Hyderabad from 2018 to 2021.

6-On Saturday, Telangana Police detained atheist Bairi Naresh for allegedly disparaging Lord Ayyappa and other Hindu deities. Following statewide protests by followers of Lord Ayyappa, police in Hanamkonda district detained the state president of the Bharata Nasthika Samajam.

7-The Telangana police have evolved into a contemporary, citizen-friendly, and efficient service delivery organisation, according to the departing director general of police M. Mahendar Reddy on Saturday.

9 – By this year’s Dasara festival, eight new government medical institutions were officially opened in Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Wanaparthy, Kothagudem, Nagarkurnool, and Ramagundam for the first time ever in the nation.

10-The Telangana State government spent Rs 4,080 crore to develop the medical institutions, which, it goes without saying, resulted in the addition of 1,200 medical seats for the current academic year.
