1-In lieu of M. Mahendar Reddy, who will retire from service on December 31, Anjani Kumar has been named the in-charge Director General of Police (DGP).

2-On Thursday, the Telangana state government issued a Government Order that transferred Anjani Kumar from his position as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau to that of DGP, Coordination, with complete extra responsibility for the DGP, HoPF position.

3-Anjani Kumar, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1990 batch, held a number of significant roles, including Hyderabad Police Commissioner from 2018 to 2021.

4-Dr. Jitender, a former additional director general of police for law and order, has been promoted to principal secretary, home. Additionally, the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services has been given additional authority over him.

5-Ravi Gupta, the principal secretary for the home, has been promoted to director general of the anti-corruption bureau. He will also be in charge of the General Administration Department’s Director General for V&E.

6-M.M. Bhagawat, the Rachakonda Police Commissioner, was also transferred by the Telangana administration and assigned to the position of Additional Director General of Police, CID.

7-Devendra Singh Chauhan, an additional commissioner of police for law and order in Hyderabad, has been assigned to lead the police force in Rachakonda.

8-Sanjay Kumar Jain, the Additional Director General of Police, P&L, has also been moved and assigned to the position of Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order. He will also have added responsibility for the position of Director General, Telangana State Fire Service & Disaster Response Force.

9-In Telangana, the overall crime rate rose by 4.44 percent in 2022.

10-The annual crime report issued by Mahender Reddy, the departing director general of police, also reveals a 57% increase in cybercrime.
