  1. Beginning with the following academic year, all government-run schools in Andhra Pradesh will use a two-semester system.

2-The state of Andhra Pradesh has issued an order establishing the two-semester system in all public schools for grades 1 through 9 starting in the upcoming academic year, and for grades 10 starting in 2024–2025.

3-According to the Andhra Pradesh government directive, the new method is one of the measures the state government is taking to ensure that National Educational Policy 2020 is implemented effectively.

4-The order stated, “The state will follow the two-semester system from Class I to IX from the academic year 2023–24 and from 2024–25 in respect of Class X.” It was sent to all regional joint directors of school education, district educational officers, additional project coordinators of Samagra Shihsha, and principals of DIETs.

5-On Saturday, a group of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) members halted a minister’s motorcade and displayed slippers, bringing attention to internal party strife within Andhra Pradesh’s ruling party.

6-Farmers from the area protested in New Delhi on Saturday, demanding that Amaravati be established as the sole state capital of Andhra Pradesh.

7-The sit-in at Jantar Mantar was organised by leaders and members of the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi (APS), which is leading the opposition to the proposed three capitals.

8-The APS organised the demonstration under the banner “Dharani Kota to Erra Kota” to mark three years since the YSRCP government announced it would split the state capital in three.

10-The farmers from Amaravati will also take part in the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh’s protest on Monday at Ramlila Grounds in favour of a number of farmer demands.

11-Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said in the state Assembly on December 17, 2019, that three state capitals would be created, overturning the previous TDP government’s intention to develop Amaravati as the state capital.

12- The YSRCP government proposed Amaravati as the legislative capital, Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital, and Kurnool as the judicial capital.

13-On September 12, farmers in Amaravati began the Maha Padyatra from Amaravati to Arasavalli. On November 12, it was supposed to come to a close in Arasavalli. On October 22, however, the organisers called off the long march, claiming that the YSRCP administration was putting obstacles in their way.

14- To garner public support for their demands, the farmers organised a Maha Padayatra from Amaravati to Tirupati last year.

15-On March 3, 2022, the Andhra Pradesh High Court gave the state government six months to prepare Amaravati to serve as the state capital. 75 petitions submitted by Amaravati farmers and others opposing the government’s decision on three capitals had been heard by a three-judge panel.

16 Nevertheless, the state of Andhra Pradesh appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court halted the High Court’s judgement last month on the grounds that it cannot exercise the same authority as a municipal planner or an engineer.
