Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy has been appointed head coach of the West Indies Test team, adding to his current role as coach of the ODI and T20I sides.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced Darren Sammy’s expanded coaching role during a press conference in St. Vincent. Sammy, a two-time ICC T20 World Cup-winning captain, has been leading the white-ball teams since May 2023.
He will take over as Test coach from April 2024, replacing Andre Coley after the current World Test Championship cycle concludes. CWI Director Miles Bascombe confirmed the decision, marking a new coaching chapter for Sammy.
Darren Sammy’s appointment as head coach across all formats signifies West Indies’ trust in his leadership.
