Telangana has rolled out an AI-powered emergency response platform called Dial 112.
It replaces the older emergency number system with a single contact point for multiple urgent services.
The system covers police, fire, ambulance, women’s safety, child protection, and disaster support.
AI helps filter spam or fake calls, convert speech to text, and prioritize calls based on urgency.
It also uses location tools to quickly identify the caller’s position and alert the nearest patrol unit.
In selected Hyderabad and Cyberabad areas, AI-based drones will support first response operations.

Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa won the St. Louis Rapid and Blitz 2026 title in the United States.
He secured the title after drawing with Zavokhir Sindarov.
The win came before the final round was completed.
He finished with 23.5 points out of 35.
This was his first rapid-and-blitz tournament crown.

Bhawana Kanth became the first woman fighter pilot to complete the Fighter Combat Leader course in the Indian Air Force.
The training took place at TACDE, Gwalior.
The course is highly selective and is considered one of the toughest advanced fighter training programs.
Completion of the course gives her advanced leadership qualification for complex air combat missions.
She currently flies Su-30 MKI aircraft.

Professor Karthikeyaan Lanka of IIT Bombay is among the 16 emerging scientists selected for the NASI Young Scientist Award 2026.
His research focuses on remote sensing, land-atmosphere interactions, and agricultural drought assessment.

IIT Guwahati has developed a low-cost portable optical device called E-Eye.

Its estimated construction cost is around ₹3,500, with a testing cost of about ₹2 per sample.
