Hyderabad Metro is set to expand its connectivity in northern Hyderabad with two new corridors—Paradise to Medchal and JBS to Shameerpet. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy gave the green signal for these projects as part of Phase-II ‘B’ development.

Government’s Action Plan

  • Detailed Project Report (DPR):
    Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy has been tasked with preparing a DPR within three months.
  • Approval Process:
    The DPR will be submitted to the central government for approval.
  • Joint Venture:
    The project will be executed as a joint venture between the central and state governments under Phase-II ‘B.’

Current Metro Statistics and Future Goals

  • Phase-II ‘A’ Proposal:
    • Five corridors covering 76.4 km
    • Estimated cost: ₹24,269 crore
    • Awaiting central approval
  • Phase-I Success:
    • 69 km across three corridors
